You can check the number of sheets in a group or project using the statistics.

Mac

In the library, right-click the group/project and select Statistics…. The sheet count will appear as the first item.

iPhone and iPad

Touch and hold a group or project and select Statistics. The number of sheets will be listed in the statistics overview.
